BIRDING
Voice The male African Pygmy-goose gives a soft twittering whistle "Choo-choo" and "Pee-wee", with subdued "Tsu-tswi". The female has a weak quack and a twittering whistle, while uttering a squeaky whistle when in flight. Distribution and Habits (see map) This species is known to be nomadic and is regarded as quite common in the Okavango Delta and Pongola Floodplain, with flocks of up to one thousand birds in the dry season. The actual numbers are dependent on good rainfall in key areas where they are common. Usually found in pairs or small family parties.
