Conservation-based CITIZENSHIP IN ACTION Rietvlei Nature Reserve is situated in the south-eastern outskirts of the city of Pretoria and is owned and managed by the City Council of Tshwane. At 4 000 ha in size it is the largest game reserve worldwide, located within the boundaries of a city. The Reserve is characterised by the impressive Rietvlei Dam, which measures 200 ha, and is a favourite amongst anglers and canoe enthusiasts.
