OUTDOOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AT ITS BEST WESSA Bush Pigs is a leader in environmental education and has offered outstanding programmes for over 30 years. Thousands of learners from all backgrounds and cultures visit every year from South Africa as well as neighbouring SADC countries such as Botswana. The beautiful Waterberg mountains in Limpopo Province provides the backdrop to our 260ha property which offers a variety of landscapes including riverine and mountainous ridges. The area falls within a mixed bushveld which is a subdivision of a Savannah biome. At Bush Pigs, learners can enjoy a wide range of environmental education activities focusing on:

We offer two to five day programmes for small and large groups of all ages. A four camp rotation system is extremely popular with many schools:

OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMMES At Bush Pigs we believe that learning needs to be relevant and engaging and therefore do not have set programmes. We tailor-make each school visit to create innovative and exciting learning experiences , blending the curriculum with adventurous outdoor activities, environmental topics and themes. Through our programmes in the outdoor classroom, teachers are provided with invaluable insights into their learners away from the confines of the school environment. We are flexible and have the experience and expertise to create specialised and age-appropriate programmes suited to the needs of your school, regardless of whether it's your first or 25th visit. Popular themes include: Conservation Game Waddle in the intricacies of Wetlands Branch out into the world of Indigenous trees Get Carbon Smart, and Splash out (during National Water Week) We take great pride in our exceptional reputation of service and hospitality and offer assistance with the practical planning of your visit which includes: A comprehensive minors consent and indemnity form Useful information for parents and learners Kit list Menu and dietary requirements We are able organise bus hire for the trip through one of our trusted service providers.
