Jiyana Secondary School in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, upholds the astute vision: ‘ shaping our tomorrow today ’. A forward-thinking and high-achieving school, with just over 1,700 learners and nearly 60 teaching staff members, the School Governing Body plays an active role in supporting our school activities.

OUR JOURNEY Our school joined the Eco- Schools programme in 2013, with the overarching aim to provide opportunities for learners, educators and the community to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of sustainability-related matters, challenges and solutions.

As part of our holistic waste management strategy, the learners clean up the school regularly. All waste is sorted appropriately and the recycling is sold to generate income.
